The Junk Trip
This year is the Olympic Year of China, the National Day Fire Works on 1st October 2008 were magnificent!
We were blessed by nice weather that evening. We bet for those who have joined the Junk Trip, you were also impressed by the modern architectures on both sides of the Harbour.

The Welcome Cocktail at the Hong Kong Club (and Night Life in Hong Kong)
Most, if not all, of the members who have joined the Autumn Conference attended the Welcome Cocktail which was held at the Hong Kong Club.
A team of Robertsons’ professional staff went to give their warmest welcome to the fellow Consulegis members.
After the Welcome Cocktail, we went to Savva which is located at the penthouse of the Princes Building which is opposite to the Legislative Council of Hong Kong.

The Conference
The traditional Chinese Lion Dance in the Opening Ceremony was fabulous. We were honoured to have our Secretary for Justice to give the opening speech. We were also honoured to have the Chief Justice of Hong Kong to give a speech on International Law and also Mr. Justice Hartman to give a speech on Basic Law, One Country, Two System.
Here, may we take the opportunity to thank all the other speakers as well.

The Wig and Pen at the Foreign Correspondence Club (and Night Life in Hong Kong)
The Wig and Pen cocktail, was offered with the compliments of the Partners of Robertsons who carried the tab and cost of the evening. There were food, humour and copious amounts of drink.
The original Wig & Pen in England stands symbolically beside the unobtrusive, almost inconspicuous, entrance to the Inns of Court, opposite the Royal Courts of Justice and Temple Bar, traditionally regarded as the point at which London's seemingly incompatible districts of City and Westminster merge.
The Wig & Pen event is usually a light-hearted get together for journalists and lawyers.
This time, we were pleased to have Mr. Ernst Herb, the current President of the Foreign Correspondents' Club in Hong Kong and also the Far East correspondent for the Swiss business publication Finanz und Wirtschaft to speak on behalf of the “Pen” side.
On the “Wig” side, we were honoured to have Mr. Martin Lee Q.C.
Both speakers had direct humorous vitriol against the opposing profession.
After the Wig and Pen, we went to Lan Kwai Fong and experienced the night life in Hong Kong.

The Gala Dinner at the China Club (and Night Life in Hong Kong)
The Gala Dinner was definitely another highlight of the Conference.
There were numerous traditional Chinese performances. The pictures tell the story!
