Practice Areas

Robertsons’ Criminal and Commercial Crime Department has vast experience in defending individuals, executives and companies in all sectors. Our team is consistently recognized as a leading criminal law practice in Hong Kong.

We defend clients in actions initiated by the Hong Kong Police, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (“ICAC”), the Commercial Crime Bureau (“CCB”) and the Securities and Futures Commission. In particular we work closely with our Regulatory Department in prosecutions of “White Collar” crimes.

In addition, we have acted for defendants on numerous actions initiated by Government Departments including the Immigration Department; the Inland Revenue Department; the Customs and Excise Department; the Census and Statistics Department; the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department; the Housing Department; the Intellectual Property Department and the Health Department.

We also assist clients, particularly from overseas, in filing complaints with the relevant authorities in areas such as intellectual property infringement and allegations of corrupt practices in Hong Kong.

Our criminal team is experienced in handling criminal cases from the Magistracy level to the Court of Final Appeal in a cost effective, practical and efficient manner. We are well versed in conducting mitigation, making bail applications and, of course, taking cases to fully contested trials.

Whether it is a local or foreign detainee, we do our upmost to ensure that clients’ rights are protected at all times.

We have a 24 hour hotline for emergency situations (Tel: +852 9037 0333) and we are able to respond promptly to police, CCB and ICAC raids and detentions.
