Michael Lintern-Smith practised law in France between 1973 and 1978, in the UK from 1978 to 1981 and has practised in Hong Kong since 1981. He was made a Partner of Robertsons in January 1985 and has been the firm’s Senior Partner since 1989.

Mr. Lintern-Smith handles a wide variety of international work including advising clients in manufacturing, retailing, China trade, insurance and trade law issues. He has comprehensive commercial litigation and advocacy experience and is nominated in the list of lawyers approved by the French Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Christopher Gordon qualified in England in 1979 practising mainly in the area of banking and related commercial litigation with a large London firm. He came to Hong Kong in 1982, was made a Partner of the firm in 1985 and for several years specialised largely in shipping and general civil litigation. His practice now focuses on commercial, finance and corporate matters including banking, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions and trust matters.

BARRY HOY

Barry Hoy qualified in England in 1983, was admitted as a Solicitor in Hong Kong in 1985 and joined Robertsons in 1990. He was made a Partner of the firm in 1995 and now heads the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, which consists of 35 members of staff.

Mr. Hoy’s own areas of practice are in Commercial Litigation, Commercial Fraud and Tracing Claims, Employment law, Corporate, Regulatory (SFC/SEHK) Inquiries and Tribunals, International Arbitrations and urgent interlocutory applications and remedies, including Mareva and Anton Piller Injunction Orders.

Mr. Hoy is regularly featured in the Hong Kong Publication of “Who’s Who of the Law”, a Contributing Editor to the Hong Kong Supreme Court Practice (White Book), a member of a Specialist Law Society Appointed Committee advising on Civil Procedure Reforms in Hong Kong and an appointed Panel-Prosecutor for the Law Society of Hong Kong in Disciplinary Proceedings brought against members of the profession.

ANDREW Y.B. LEE

Andrew Lee served his Traineeship with Robert W.H. Wang & Co, joined Robertsons as an Associate Solicitor in 1989 and became a Partner of the firm in 1992. He was also admitted as a Solicitor in England, Wales and Australia.

Mr. Lee’s experience and practice is in general civil litigation, with a special focus on insurance related matters.

Mr. Lee is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Ec-Founder (Holdings) Co. Ltd.

Mr. Lambert is the National Presidential Delegate of the International Young Lawyers Association and a member of the Law Society Working Party on Incorporation of Solicitors Practices.

KEVIN STEEL

Kevin Steel graduated from Law Northumbria University in the UK and then completed his Traineeship in Hong Kong before being admitted as a Solicitor in 1991.

In 1994, Mr. Steel joined Robertsons as an Associate Solicitor and was admitted as a Partner in 1997.

Mr. Steel specialises in Criminal Litigation, in particular White Collar Crime and heads the firm’s Corporate Crime Unit. He has been involved in numerous high profile cases prosecuted by the Independent Commission Against Corruption, Commercial Crime Bureau cases and defence work in Securities and Futures Commission investigations.

Mr. Steel is recommended in the Asia Pacific Legal 500, Corporate Crime Section for Hong Kong. He also sits on the Criminal Law and Procedure Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong.

JEREMY LEVY

Jeremy Levy practised law in England between 1981 and 1985. He has practised law in Hong Kong since 1985. He was a Partner of Robert W.H. Wang & Co. for about 10 years before joining Robertsons as a Partner in 1999.

His experience encompasses a wide variety of areas of the law within the field of Commercial Litigation, including Letter of Credit disputes, Guarantee disputes, Tax Appeals, complex jurisdictional disputes, Administrative law, Shareholder’s disputes, Insolvency, Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, Employment disputes, Breach of Trust, and Breach of Contract matters.

Mr. Levy has substantial court and arbitration experience including conducting arbitrations and arbitration hearings, obtaining and discharging Mareva injunctions and other applications before Judges in Chambers, and a whole range of interlocutory applications before Masters in Chambers.Mr. Levy is an active member of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong of which he is the Treasurer. He has delivered a number of lectures in different areas of the law including Civil Appeals to the Court of Appeal and the Bolam principle in Personal Injury Litigation.

LESLEY MCLEAN

Lesley McLean was educated in New Zealand, obtained a Law Degree from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand in 1993. She joined Robertsons in 1994. She was admitted as a Solicitor in Hong Kong and England in 1996. Ms. McLean handles Conveyancing, general Company and Commercial work, including Administration of Trusts and (non-contentious) Intellectual Property matters.

Ms. McLean is a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association and a member of the New Zealand Hong Kong Business Association.

JENNIFER WONG

She is also a qualified company secretary.

He has experience in all aspects of securities and commercial law including, IPOs, takeovers, restructurings, rescues, direct investments and private equity funds.
